For dancers ready to take their skills to the next level, our Competition Team provides intensive training and performance opportunities at regional and national competitions.
What It Takes
Competition dance requires dedication beyond regular classes. Team members train 4+ hours weekly, learning choreography to competition standards. We look for technical skill, performance ability, and most importantly—teamwork.
Tryouts and Placement
Annual tryouts held in January and June. We evaluate technique, performance quality, and adaptability. Accepted dancers assigned to teams based on skill level—Junior (ages 10-13), Senior (14-17), and Elite (18+).
Competition Circuit
Our teams compete at major South African events including KZN Dance Championships, Cape Town Dance Fest, and JETs Regionals. Past years have seen our teams place in Top 5 across multiple categories.
Beyond the Trophy
Competition experience builds resilience, time management, and the ability to perform under pressure. Our alumni carry these skills into professional careers and university life. Win or lose, the experience shapes dancers.
