In 2016, two young dreamers from Centurion stepped onto the SA Got Talent stage with nothing but passion and years of hard work. What followed was history. Kryptonite Dance Academy was founded by Eugene Baloyi and Zoyi Lindiwe Muendane with a simple vision: to use dance as a language that could travel the world, build bridges, and create opportunities for South African youth.
The Beginning
Their journey began long before the spotlight. Eugene and Zoyi met as young dancers with big ambitions. They saw a gap in the South African market—a lack of professional dance training that could compete on the global stage. Rather than waiting for opportunities, they created their own.
Starting as a small studio in Centurion, Gauteng, they built Kryptonite from the ground up. Their philosophy was simple: train hard, stay authentic, and never compromise on quality. This approach attracted like-minded dancers who shared their vision.
The SA Got Talent Moment
In November 2016, Kryptonite took the SA Got Talent stage by storm. Their performance wasn't just about impressive moves—it was about storytelling through dance. The judges and audience witnessed something special: raw talent combined with years of dedication.
Walking away as winners wasn't just a trophy—it was validation that South African dance talent could compete with the best in the world. It proved that with the right training and dedication, our youth can achieve anything.
Where We Are Today
Today, Kryptonite stands as one of Africa's premier dance academies, producing not just talented dancers but confident individuals ready to take on the creative industry. Our alumni have gone on to work with major brands, perform internationally, and start their own dance ventures.
The academy continues to grow, offering classes from Tiny Tots to advanced professional training. Our commitment remains the same: nurture talent, celebrate African dance heritage, and prepare the next generation of dancers for global stages.
Looking Forward
As we continue our journey, we remember why we started. Every student who walks through our doors represents another young person given the opportunity to dream bigger. That's the Kryptonite difference—where champions are made, and where dance becomes a language that transcends boundaries.
